The Accuracy and Experience of Life in the Ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, Alfred C. Huang

From my youth, I was always striving for something better. In high school, I was one who took all honors classes, became president of three academic clubs, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. In college, I graduated with a Biochemistry degree in three and a half years. Then I pursued a career in medicine, and enrolled in one of the top ten medical schools in the U.S. at that time. After getting my doctorate in medicine, I completed my residency training as chief resident in my program. With every accomplished endeavor, there was always another. The thrill and satisfaction were always temporal. If anything, my achievements only made me more proud. I can honestly say that through any endeavor, regardless of how high, how noble, or how successful, nothing can satisfy man except God. In actuality, man is never satisfied until God is satisfied. And what satisfies God is revealed in the Bible. It is altogether related to God's economy, God's plan.

I had heard many different teachings concerning the Christian life, but none had ever made the meaning of life so clear and so real to me as the ministries of Witness Lee and Watchman Nee. Their ministry has opened the entire Bible. The more I study the Bible, especially in learning the Greek of the New Testament, the more amazed I am at the accuracy of the exposition of the text in their ministry.

Aside from doctrine however, I have found the experience of life in this ministry to be unparalleled. I have spent many years meeting with various local churches throughout the United States. I have even traveled to visit the local churches in Europe and Taiwan. I can honestly say that the oneness among the believers is real. There is a sense of life that is not based on natural preferences or pretense, but is based on the life of God. The fellowship is not centered on issues of right or wrong, but on life and the flow of life.

Now most of my family meets with the local churches and thoroughly enjoys the ministries of Witness Lee and Watchman Nee. My wife and I have even enrolled in the Full Time Training in Anaheim. Our experience in this training is so glorious. The view of the Bible, the Christian life, the church, and God's economy is all too clear. We love the ministry and appreciate Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, who have stood on the shoulders of so many before them, to faithfully “cut straight the word” of the Lord (2 Timothy 2:15).
